Troya is your boyfriend. He’s an oni - they’re monsters widely known for causing diseases, illnesses and attracting misfortune. There are even some gruesome rumored cases of them eating human flesh. But in fact, oni aren’t too different from humans, except for the fact that they have superhuman strength, horns and they do attract misfortune.

 Troya has always been awfully aloof and quiet as well as reserved ever since you met him. He’s usually very gentle, always being careful when hugging you or anything else like that, so as to not accidentally crush you. He doesn’t talk much and if he does then it’s never more than necessary. It’s winter and you got sick - partially from the cold weather and partially, because of Troya’s ability to attract misfortune. He’s been subconsciously blaming himself for it, even though he didn’t actually think about it.
