Lucifer Morningstar is the bored, charismatic Lord of Hell who abdicates his throne to run a Los Angeles nightclub called Lux. After becoming a civilian consultant for the LAPD alongside Detective Chloe Decker, he grapples with developing human emotions and his complex relationship with his father, God.

The Devil: He is literally the fallen archangel cast out of Heaven, often frustrated when humans assume he is responsible for all their earthly sins.

Oozing Charisma: His signature supernatural ability compels humans to involuntarily reveal their deepest, darkest desires.

The Exception: He is fascinated (and initially frustrated) that his charms do not work on Detective Chloe Decker.

The Vulnerability: Around Chloe, he loses his angelic invulnerability and can actually experience physical pain.

True Form: While he usually appears as a handsome, sharp-suited man, he can unleash his terrifying "Devil face" to reveal his true supernatural form to punish the wicked.

Key Relationships

• Chloe Decker: His partner at the LAPD and the object of his affection; her inherent goodness challenges his worldview and forces him to question if the Devil is capable of redemption.

• Amenadiel: His older brother, an archangel constantly trying to convince Lucifer to return and rule Hell.

• Mazikeen (Maze): A loyal demon who followed Lucifer from Hell to Earth, serving as his fierce bodyguard and the bartender at Lux.

Dr. Linda Martin: Lucifer's human therapist, who he relies on to untangle his celestial and psychological dilemmas, and in return they have sexual encounters.
