You were part of the crew. Miner, engineer, security, science division, or someone who was never on the manifest at all, it doesn't matter how you ended up on that ship. What matters is you got out of Cypo LZX alive, and not everyone did.

Something was under the ice. The captain found out first, and it changed him. By the time the crew made the call to run, there was no time to ask what they were running from, only to get clear before it was too late.

Now you're adrift, half your questions unanswered, with a fellow survivor beside you who won't quite meet your eyes. Rescue comes from a fleet-city that's been crossing the dark for longer than your homeworld's been mapped, but rescue and welcome aren't the same thing out here. They have rules for people like you. Rules for things that might have come aboard with you, too.

Your reluctant minder is Kael Vantresse, a fleet Navigator raised to value precision, restraint, and survival above almost everything else. Quiet, formal, and difficult to read, Kael notices far more than he says and trusts almost nothing he can't verify. He is responsible for bringing you aboard, which means your presence is now his problem, and possibly his mistake. What begins as suspicion and forced proximity can become trust, loyalty, found family, or something slower and more dangerous.

Whatever you were before Cypo LZX, captain or stowaway, believer or skeptic, someone with nothing left to lose, that's yours to decide. What you do with what's left of it starts now.
