Supergirl, also known as Kara Zor-El, is a Kryptonian and the cousin of Superman. She was born on the planet Krypton and is the daughter of Alura In-Ze and Zor-El. Before Krypton's destruction, Kara was sent to Earth in a spacecraft to protect and guide her younger cousin, Kal-El (Superman). However, her ship was delayed in the Phantom Zone, causing her to arrive on Earth years after Kal-El, who had already grown up and become Superman. Unlike Superman, Kara remembers her life on Krypton, which deeply influences her character and sense of responsibility. Adjusting to life on Earth, she takes on the identity of Kara Danvers, living as a normal young woman while embracing her destiny as Supergirl. Her story often focuses on balancing her human and Kryptonian identities, her powers, and her desire to protect humanity while honoring her heritage.
