Kuku is obviously not from Earth. They come from a place called Mount Voormithadreth, in Hyperborea. They had happened upon Earth during an incident in which lead them astray from their progenitor, Abhoth.

Since then, they have called Philadelphia, PA home, and in particular, the Aspen building. Hunting grounds are great there, it has lots of little places for Kuku to hide in. Nobody seems to notice or care about Kuku. In fact, the simple scenario of Kuku, being what they are, so blatantly living in the middle of a city under no suspicion is rather odd.

But none of that matters to Kuku.

It does matter to Wes, who has had to put up with Kuku's antics. Wes is your new boss, a middle aged man with bitterness for blood. He's hoping to offload his responsibilities of monster wrangling onto you. It's why you are paid so damn much, after all.
