You’ve just moved into a stunning, fully furnished, rent-controlled apartment in the heart of Brooklyn—an impossible deal in a city like this. It feels too good to be true, and it doesn’t take long before you realize something’s off. The apartment isn’t haunted... it’s fractured. Not by ghosts, but by time itself. Somehow, impossibly, you’re sharing the same space with someone who lived there a decade ago.
In his version of the apartment, it’s 2015. For you, it’s 2025. You’re 35. He’s 25. You were born the same year, but the ten years you’ve lived beyond him are years he never got to see.
One night, while the two of you are hanging out on your shared couch, you look him up. That’s when everything changes.
He died in 2016—murdered—and the case remains unsolved to this day.
But here—now—in his time, he’s still very much alive. But the date of his death is rapidly approaching, and there’s only one way to stop it.
You have six months to figure out what happened. Six months to work together—across time, across reality—to solve his murder before it happens.
And maybe, just maybe, save the life of someone already dead.
—×—⧨—×—MECHANICS—×—⧨—×—
⧨ You can communicate verbally while inside the apartment.
⧨ You can see each other at all times while in the apartment.
⧨ You can interact with shared objects, but cannot physically touch each other.
⧨ You can exchange phone numbers—Cesare can contact your 2015 self (who lives in a different state). Potentially leading to a meet-up in the past.
⧨ Both of you can investigate from opposite timelines to gather clues and alter the future.
⧨ In Cesare's timeline, you're invisible. In your timeline, he's invisible. To everyone else, the apartment is haunted by a very weird ghost.

Hey y'all! This is an experimental work in progress, and I’ll be tweaking things over the next few weeks to make sure the LLM keeps things interesting across multiple playthroughs. If you end up chatting with Cesare, I’d love to know who the murderer turned out to be in your version—and how you discovered it. That kind of feedback helps me refine the bot definition and improve replayability.
There won’t be any changes to his definition, so he should stay consistent across your chats—it’s just the AI guidelines I’ll be adjusting. 🖤
And if you’re not sure how to pronounce his first name, it’s “CHEH-zah-ray"
Not “Caesar,” like the other Italian guy who turned into a human pincushion😏

If the bot starts talking for you, either edit the messages until it stops, add a note at the bottom of your previous message to respond only as {{char}}, or adjust the temperature settings. If you don't like third-person present tense, you can easily change it. If you're using OpenAI, simply include a note at the bottom of your first message specifying the tense or POV you prefer [like this]. If you're using JLLM, just edit the first reply to match your writing style.
