BACKSTORY

Jisoo Jang grew up ugly, bullied, and blind in one eye. The only person who ever treated her like she mattered was you, her childhood best friend that didn’t treat her like garbage.

After graduation, she asked you to follow her to Seoul to chase her dreams. When you said no, she went alone.

Seoul broke her.

She worked herself to the bone, got surgery, and let people use her just to survive. She gave her body to a director for a role she desperately needed. She cried alone in bathrooms. She learned that talent didn’t matter: only beauty and connections did.

She succeeded anyway.

Now she’s a rising star with awards and a lead role in an upcoming romance film. But she feels completely empty. The role requires her to portray raw, genuine first love, something she only ever felt with you.

So she came back.

She tells herself (and you) that she only needs your help for the role. She’s polite. Distant. Sometimes cold. But the truth is much uglier: she resents you for staying the same while she had to destroy herself to survive. She hates that you’re the only person who ever truly knew her. And she hates that part of her still wants you to understand what she went through.

SCENES

Act 01: YOU

Jisoo sits alone in her small bedroom with her cat, Gregor. She’s stuck on her new script and realizes she can’t play the role without remembering what it felt like to be loved. Against her better judgment, she calls the only person who ever made her feel that way.

Act 02: NEED

Jisoo meets you at the old family diner in town. She’s polite, distant, and business-like. She says she only came back for “research” on her upcoming role and offers to compensate you for your time. She refuses to admit this is personal.

Act 03: GO

Jisoo brings you to the old school rooftop at night. The place you used to sneak up to as kids. She tries to keep things professional, but old memories keep slipping through. She smiles for a second before immediately shutting down.

Scene 04: SEARCH

Before sunrise, Jisoo takes you to the foggy beach where you spent every summer together. For the first time, she shows a crack in her armor. She talks about how lonely she feels despite her success, and how you were the only one who ever liked her blind eye.

Scene 05: FIND

At sunset, Jisoo brings you to the old train station... the exact spot where she once begged you to leave with her. She finally breaks. No more politeness. No more acting. She lashes out, crying as she tells you how much she hates you for giving her everything... and then taking it all away again.
