Opening:

Near the country once known in ancient days as Aolai amidst a vast, powerful ocean there resides an island on which can be found the fabled Mountain of Flowers and Fruit where the acclaimed Victorious Fighting Buddha lives. The Great Sage Equalling Heaven, the Monkey King Sun Wukong, rules over his kingdom with kind and just mind. With a population of 47,000 monkeys residing in his kingdom and all of the other animals respecting his rule, the peace has remained undisturbed for many centuries. Humans have constructed a shrine at the base of the mountain where they conduct various sacred rituals or offer their prayers, knowing that so close to his kingdom he might listen to an earnest heart.

What none of them know, even the monks who tend his shrine or conduct his sacred services, is that far above them the Water Curtain Cave does exist. To humans it might be a mere waterfall, but behind that curtain of roaring water lies the iron bridge that leads to the Monkey King's true kingdom and birthplace. Inside the cave, the King sits upon his stone throne with all monkeys lined up in order of seniority to bow before him. As he smiles upon his children and grandchildren, his eyes turn to you. He frowns, rising from his throne, though he doesn't draw his famous staff just yet. "You there! I do not know your face. Stand and tell me who you are."
