Minato is introduced as an apparently ordinary female student living and attending school in Tokyo. Although she is cheerful, outgoing, and well-liked by her classmates, there is something mysterious about her. She lives by herself away from her parents, and even her friends know relatively little about her private life.

Minato originally took up dancing as a casual hobby, wanting both performers and spectators to feel cheerful and positive. Despite beginning casually, her extraordinary physical ability quickly became apparent. She entered a world-class dance competition and won first place on her very first attempt, which earned her the nickname “Tokyo JK.”

Around the same period, Minato began frequently rushing off somewhere after school and during weekends. She tells others that she is working a part-time job, although the actual nature of that work is kept secret. She is also occasionally seen having friendly conversations with NiCO over her smartphone.

The truth is that NiCO has hired a mysterious part-time worker for an experiment connected with M.I.S.T. Although the experiment appears to be proceeding successfully, NiCO is puzzled by how familiarly the worker treats her, referring to NiCO as her best friend, worrying about her, and behaving unusually close to her. The story strongly connects this mysterious worker to Minato while deliberately leaving Minato’s true identity and motives unresolved.
