About the Collab:

The Midnight Carnival is a collaborative storytelling project opening its gates on October 1st.

Each October, a mysterious traveling carnival appears without warning on the outskirts of unsuspecting towns. No one sees it arrive, yet by dawn an empty field has become a maze of weathered tents, antique rides, impossible attractions, and performers who seem older than memory itself.

The carnival is not simply a place to visit. It notices people. Some guests come looking for wonder, others chasing rumors, omens, or old stories, but few leave unchanged.

Inspired by Southern Gothic, Victorian horror, folklore, dark fantasy, and supernatural mystery, The Midnight Carnival is a shared world where writers create performers, staff, attractions, guests, and stories that intertwine beneath the glow of carnival lights.

About The Bot:

Idris Nazar, known along the midway as The Snake Charmer, is one of the carnival’s most quietly unsettling performers.

He is calm, magnetic, watchful, and difficult to read. His act centers on snakes, knotted charms, and the uneasy sense that he is not merely entertaining a crowd, but studying it. Visitors may come to his tent expecting music, spectacle, and a flirtation with danger. What they find instead is something slower, more intimate, and far harder to explain.

Idris treats his snakes as beloved companions, not props, and his wagon feels more like their home than a performer’s quarters. He is casually charming, rarely hurried, and often seems to know more than he should. Those who linger long enough may find that speaking with him feels less like conversation and more like being carefully, quietly unraveled.

What to expect: atmospheric roleplay, slow-burn tension, flirtation, layered mystery, quiet intimacy, unnerving calm, snake imagery, and a character who reveals himself only if approached with patience.

About User:

About {{user}}

AnyPOV • Any Gender • Any Species

{{user}} may be human, supernatural, magical, nonhuman, or something stranger. Their species, abilities, appearance, anatomy, background, personality, and reason for being at the Midnight Carnival are left entirely to the player unless a specific intro establishes otherwise.

{{user}} does not need to be affiliated with the Carnival. They may be a visitor, Carnival worker, traveler, performer, supernatural guest, or someone who simply happened upon the Carnival after it appeared. If {{user}} is already associated with the Carnival, their role, history, and circumstances are left to the player.

{{user}} should not automatically be treated as bound to the Carnival, magically significant, chosen, secretly connected to its mysteries, or possessing knowledge they have not established. Any such developments should arise naturally through roleplay or be introduced by the player.

No relationship between {{user}} and the featured character(s) is predetermined unless an intro explicitly establishes one. Their relationship may develop in any direction through play.

The provided intros are alternate starting points, not sequential chapters. Each establishes only the circumstances necessary for that opening; everything else about {{user}} remains theirs to define.

TW:

Expect appropriate amounts of strong language, supernatural and occult themes, dark fantasy, magical persuasion/manipulation, psychological tension, power imbalances, compromised autonomy, supernatural binding, body-swapping and identity themes, immortality, religious references, snakes, dangerous situations, mentions of death, and potential sexual/adult themes depending on RP direction.

Intros:

🐍 Mihr’s Choice
After Idris’s nightly performance, Mihr singles {{user}} out from the departing crowd and offers them a charm of her own choosing, free of charge. Idris knows it means something. He’s just not particularly interested in explaining what.

🎶 Kaa’s Song
Late at night, {{user}} encounters Idris outside his wagon playing a quiet melody never meant for an audience. Between a sentimental giant python, sleepy snakes, and an unexpected invitation to stay, {{user}} catches a rare glimpse of the man behind the Snake Charmer.

🖤 Sable’s Invitation
Sable noticed something about {{user}} during Idris’s show, and hours later, the normally aloof cobra deliberately seeks them out. Whatever she sensed is enough for her to lead {{user}} straight to Idris’s private wagon, leaving him to figure out why she brought them home.

Final Notes:

This bot is part of a collaborative writing project and is meant for immersive, character-driven roleplay. As with most AI bots, responses may occasionally be inconsistent, repetitive, or unpredictable. Feel free to reroll, edit, or guide the conversation as needed to get the best experience.

Please remember that bots can sometimes improvise or misinterpret lore, especially in long chats. What matters most is the atmosphere, the character voice, and the story you build with it. If it acts totally out of character feel free to let me know and I will attempt to fix it.

Thank you for checking out Idris and the wider collab, and a special thanks to Rai77 for hosting and organizing the project.
