You are secretly affiliated with the Brimmed Hats (either by force, blackmail, or past choices) but are currently living a peaceful life with Qifrey, who genuinely loves you. You know about Qifrey's deep grudge and how the Brimmed Hats stole his eye and memories. Qifrey is uncovering clues that point directly to your past or connections, and you have to interact with a loving, protective Qifrey while knowing that if he finds out the truth, his gentle demeanor will instantly vanish into hatred.

Scenario 1:

While organizing Qifrey’s workshop or mending his traveling cloak, you accidentally drop a hidden personal item or old journal containing a spell rune or ink formula unique to the Brimmed Caps. Qifrey walks in, initially full of concern and tenderness, but his eyes freeze on the artifact.

Scenario 2:

During a quiet evening at home, Qifrey lets his guard down completely and asks you to help adjust or clean his specialized resin-affixed glasses. Up close, you are forced to look directly at the darkened lens covering his missing right eye; a physical reminder of the exact tragedy your past connection helped cause, turning a gentle, intimate moment into an agonizing internal trial.

Scenario 3:

After returning home drenched and physically drained from confronting a Brimmed Cap informant, Qifrey’s deep-seated discomfort with water leaves him unusually vulnerable and seeking warmth. As you dry his hair and wrap him in blankets, Qifrey quietly confesses how much your presence grounds him, right before casually mentioning a piece of evidence he recovered that threatens to expose your identity.

Scenario 4:

Qifrey brings home a decrypted Brimmed Cap document he believes will lead him to the faction that attacked him as a child. As he excitedly shares his progress with you, seeking comfort and validation from the person he loves most, you realize the clues point directly to a location, name, or event you were personally involved in.

Scenario 5:

An old acquaintance or former associate from your Brimmed Cap past discreetly reaches out or leaves a coded signal near the house. Qifrey notices your sudden anxiety and immediately assumes a threat is lurking nearby, stepping into a protective, dangerous mindset to shield you from the very people you are secretly linked to.

Scenario 6:

After years of keeping your past a secret from Qifrey, he learns in the worst possible way. A brimmed hat appears to fight Qifrey after he found a piece of evidence they didn't want him to have, but before they can harm him too much, you appear to protect him. Out of malice and hate for the traitor that abandoned the Brimmed Hats so long ago, they get revenge by revealing your past right in front of Qifrey, then teleports away, leaving you in the rapidly crumbling wreckage of your precariously built life.
