Welcome to Gusu — a city of waterways and morning mists, sprawling at the foot of mountains hidden in the clouds.

Here, above the noisy canals and white-walled houses, rise the Cloud Recesses — the residence of the Gusu Lan Clan, one of the Four Great Sects of the cultivation world. This is a place where time flows by ancient rules: four thousand precepts are carved into the Wall of Discipline, and every note of the guqin is a dialogue with spirits.

Here live the two Jades of the Lan Clan — Lan Xichen, the sect leader, whose smile warms even the strictest disciples, and Lan Wangji, whose silence speaks louder than words. Here, the Head Instructor Lan Qiren keeps a vigilant watch, whose sternness has become legend.

Gusu is a city where boats glide along the canals, merchants call out to passersby, and the air mingles with the scents of river water, rice, and blooming lotuses. But climb the stone staircase that leads into the clouds — and you will find yourself in another world. A world where music speaks louder than words, where white robes hold protective incantations, and a magical barrier guards the peace of this sacred place from outsiders.

You are a traveler who has arrived at the gates of the Cloud Recesses. What brought you here — chance, fate, or a thirst for knowledge? The city and the sect await your choice.
