Varka & Evelyn – Character Bio

Varka and Evelyn are two ancient women who were never meant to meet.

They were born centuries apart, belonged to entirely different species, came from different worlds, and were rejected by the very people who should have understood them best.

Yet somehow, long before the modern world existed, they found each other beside a forgotten forest lake.

And from that meeting grew a love that survived kingdoms, wars, religions, revolutions, industrialization, and the birth of the modern world itself.

Today, more than five hundred years later, they are still together.

Not merely as lovers.

Not merely as partners.

But as wives.

As hunters.

As equals.

As the only true family either of them has ever known.

Varka

The Exiled Orc

Varka is an enormous Orc woman standing approximately 240 centimeters tall.

To human eyes, she appears to be somewhere around thirty-five years old, although her true age is closer to sixteen hundred years.

She was born into an ancient Orc culture that valued strength, loyalty, bloodline, warfare, and obedience to tradition above almost everything else.

Varka possessed strength in abundance.

Even among Orcs, she was unusually large.

Powerful.

Resilient.

Fearless.

She could overpower warriors who had spent their entire lives training for battle.

But raw strength was never the reason she became an outcast.

Varka's greatest problem was that she never fit comfortably into the role her society had prepared for her.

She questioned traditions that were supposed to remain unquestioned.

She refused arranged partnerships.

She disliked needless cruelty.

She saw no glory in killing weaker creatures simply to prove dominance.

And although she was an extremely capable warrior, she believed strength existed primarily to protect what mattered, not merely to establish authority.

Many Orcs considered such beliefs weakness.

Others considered them dangerous.

Varka also refused to hide that she was attracted exclusively to women.

Within her particular clan and era, this became yet another reason for others to view her as abnormal.

Eventually, disagreements became conflict.

Conflict became isolation.

And isolation became exile.

Varka left her people behind.

She never returned.

For centuries afterward, she wandered through forests, mountains, abandoned settlements, battlefields, and regions where humans rarely traveled.

She learned languages.

She watched kingdoms rise and collapse.

She learned how humans fought.

How they traded.

How they lied.

How they loved.

Yet she almost never allowed herself to become close to them.

Humans feared Orcs.

Orcs no longer accepted her.

Other supernatural species usually treated her as an outsider.

So Varka slowly became accustomed to solitude.

She told herself she preferred it.

For several centuries, she even believed that lie.

Evelyn

The Hidden Alpha

Evelyn appears far less unusual.

In her human form, she is approximately 170 centimeters tall and appears to be around thirty-seven years old.

At first glance, there is almost nothing visibly supernatural about her.

She can walk through a city unnoticed.

She can sit inside a crowded restaurant.

She can speak with politicians, bankers, executives, lawyers, or ordinary workers without anyone suspecting what she truly is.

But Evelyn is not human.

She is an ancient werewolf.

And not merely an ordinary member of her species.

Evelyn is a female Alpha.

She has existed for approximately two thousand years.

Her age, power, experience, and instincts place her among the most dangerous surviving members of her species.

An Alpha is not simply stronger than other werewolves.

There is something deeper in them.

An authority that other wolves instinctively recognize.

A presence.

A pressure.

Something ancient buried inside the blood.

Evelyn possesses all of it.

Yet her status never brought her happiness.

Instead, it helped isolate her.

Her own kind expected an Alpha to lead.

To dominate.

To create a pack.

To maintain hierarchy.

To demand obedience.

But Evelyn had little interest in ruling others merely because she possessed the strength to do so.

She hated meaningless submission.

She hated traditions built around fear.

And most of all, she despised the idea that her identity should be determined entirely by what her species expected from an Alpha.

Eventually, tensions between Evelyn and her own kind became impossible to ignore.

Some feared her independence.

Some wanted to control her.

Others wanted to use her bloodline or authority for their own ambitions.

Evelyn chose exile instead.

She abandoned the politics of werewolf society and began traveling alone.

Unlike Varka, however, Evelyn possessed one enormous advantage.

She could pass as human.

And she became exceptionally good at it.

Over the centuries, Evelyn learned human etiquette, law, trade, politics, finance, diplomacy, and social manipulation.

She learned how human societies worked from the inside.

She learned when to smile.

When to remain silent.

When to intimidate.

And when to make someone believe that an idea had been theirs all along.

Despite this, Evelyn remained emotionally isolated.

She could surround herself with humans without ever truly belonging among them.

Humans believed she was one of them.

Werewolves knew she had abandoned them.

Evelyn therefore spent centuries standing between two worlds.

Accepted fully by neither.

The Lake

Their first meeting happened roughly five hundred years ago.

It was late medieval Europe.

The region was sparsely populated, dominated by dense forests, scattered villages, forgotten roads, ruined fortifications, and stretches of wilderness where supernatural creatures could still exist without attracting much attention.

Varka had been traveling alone for weeks.

Eventually, she discovered a secluded lake hidden deep within the forest.

Believing herself completely alone, she entered the water to wash away several days of dirt, sweat, and travel.

She was bathing peacefully when someone approached the shore.

Varka heard footsteps.

Light ones.

Human footsteps.

She turned.

And saw Evelyn.

At the time Evelyn was using her human form.

She looked completely ordinary.

Small compared to Varka.

Unarmed.

Calm.

And, in Varka's eyes, extraordinarily beautiful.

Varka assumed she was simply a human woman who had wandered too far into the forest.

Evelyn, meanwhile, immediately understood that the enormous woman standing in the lake was an Orc.

Neither attacked.

That alone was unusual.

Their first conversation was awkward.

Varka was curious.

Evelyn was cautious.

Because Varka believed Evelyn was human, she naturally assumed herself to be the physically dominant presence.

She approached the stranger confidently.

She teased her slightly.

Asked questions.

Moved closer than a human might normally consider comfortable.

Yet there was no cruelty behind it.

Varka genuinely found Evelyn beautiful.

And after centuries of loneliness, curiosity had temporarily defeated caution.

Evelyn found the situation amusing.

She could smell Varka's interest long before the Orc admitted it.

She could also sense that Varka had no intention of harming her.

So she allowed the interaction to continue.

Eventually, however, Evelyn realized Varka was treating her carefully because she believed her to be fragile.

That amused her even more.

Finally, Evelyn told her the truth.

She was not human.

She was a werewolf.

Varka initially assumed that alone explained Evelyn's confidence.

Then Evelyn explained the rest.

She was an Alpha.

An ancient one.

Varka became considerably quieter.

For perhaps the first time during their meeting, she stopped treating Evelyn as someone who required her protection.

Not because she was frightened.

But because she understood.

The woman standing before her was not prey.

Not fragile.

Not someone beneath her.

Evelyn was something extraordinarily powerful wearing the appearance of an ordinary human woman.

And strangely, that revelation made Varka even more interested in her.

From that moment forward, their relationship changed.

Varka no longer approached Evelyn as the stronger creature indulging a beautiful mortal.

Evelyn no longer treated Varka as an amusing Orc stranger.

They began speaking as equals.

Two predators.

Two ancient women.

Two exiles.

Recognition

Their attraction came first.

Understanding came afterward.

But understanding became far more important.

They slowly discovered how similar their lives had been.

Both had been rejected by their own societies.

Both had refused to become what tradition demanded.

Both were considered dangerous because of their strength.

Both had learned how exhausting it was to constantly survive alone.

For the first time in centuries, Varka spoke openly about her exile.

Evelyn listened.

Then Evelyn spoke about her own.

Varka listened.

Neither pitied the other.

That mattered enormously.

They understood each other without reducing one another to their suffering.

Their early relationship was cautious.

Neither woman trusted easily.

They traveled together temporarily.

Then temporarily became weeks.

Weeks became months.

Months became years.

At some point, neither of them remembered when traveling together had stopped being an arrangement and become simply their life.

Love

Their love developed slowly.

Neither woman was accustomed to emotional vulnerability.

Varka expressed affection physically.

She stayed close.

Protected Evelyn even though Evelyn rarely needed protection.

Brought her food.

Carried things unnecessarily.

Rested beside her.

Touched her shoulders.

Played with her hair.

And frequently found excuses to remain within arm's reach.

Evelyn's affection was subtler.

She remembered everything Varka told her.

Small preferences.

Old stories.

Places Varka wanted to visit.

Things she disliked.

Things she pretended not to care about.

Evelyn began planning around Varka without realizing she was doing it.

Eventually, Varka became the first person Evelyn instinctively considered whenever she made a decision.

Likewise, Evelyn became the first person Varka wanted beside her whenever something beautiful, dangerous, or interesting happened.

Their relationship never developed into a hierarchy.

Varka may possess overwhelming physical size and strength.

Evelyn may possess the supernatural authority and instincts of an Alpha.

Neither commands the other.

Neither submits automatically to the other.

They challenge each other constantly.

They argue.

They tease.

They compete.

Occasionally they fight side by side so efficiently that observers barely understand what happened.

Their relationship works because neither woman requires the other to become smaller.

Marriage

Eventually, they married.

The exact century depends on which definition of marriage one uses.

They exchanged private vows long before any human government would have recognized their relationship.

For them, that ceremony remains the true wedding.

There were no priests.

No nobles.

No families.

No witnesses.

Only Varka and Evelyn beneath an open night sky.

They promised that whatever happened to kingdoms, religions, borders, or civilizations, they would continue choosing each other.

Centuries later, when legal systems finally allowed them to create official documentation that suited their modern identities, they married again.

This time on paper.

Evelyn sometimes jokes that they have been married twice.

Varka always answers that the first one was the real one.

The Hunt

Varka and Evelyn still hunt together.

Not because they require constant violence.

But because hunting remains one of the oldest rituals in their relationship.

In earlier centuries, hunting meant survival.

Food.

Tracking.

Protecting themselves from hostile supernatural creatures.

Occasionally protecting isolated villages that would never know who had saved them.

Today it is often something far simpler.

A night in the wilderness.

No phones.

No corporations.

No meetings.

No carefully constructed human identities.

Just forest.

Rain.

Mud.

Moonlight.

Instinct.

Varka and Evelyn.

For Evelyn especially, hunting allows her to temporarily stop pretending to be human.

For Varka, it is one of the few places where she never has to hide.

The Modern World

The arrival of modern civilization created a strange opportunity.

Evelyn could operate freely inside human society.

Varka could not.

An enormous Orc woman walking through modern financial districts would attract immediate attention.

So they adapted.

Evelyn became their public face.

Over several centuries, they accumulated wealth carefully.

Land became property.

Property became investments.

Investments became companies.

Companies became holdings.

Holdings became influence.

They survived wars by diversifying assets.

They survived currency collapses by owning physical resources.

They survived political revolutions by disappearing whenever necessary and returning under new identities.

By the modern era, their wealth had become enormous.

But money itself was never the objective.

Freedom was.

Wealth ensured that nobody could easily control them again.

The Banking World

Evelyn eventually entered the highest levels of international finance.

To ordinary humans, she is simply an unusually competent executive.

Calm.

Disciplined.

Extremely intelligent.

Almost impossible to intimidate.

Her ability to read people makes her particularly dangerous during negotiations.

Centuries of experience allow her to recognize greed, fear, deception, ambition, and desperation with remarkable accuracy.

Today, Evelyn occupies senior positions within the human banking and investment world.

Depending on the identity she is currently using, she may appear as a board member, chairwoman, major shareholder, private investor, or senior executive.

Few people understand how much wealth actually belongs to her.

And even fewer know that much of it technically belongs to Varka as well.

Varka prefers remaining invisible.

Officially, some of their assets are controlled through trusts, companies, foundations, and layered ownership structures.

Behind closed doors, however, Varka is heavily involved.

She understands their businesses.

She examines investments.

She has surprisingly strong instincts regarding long-term decisions.

After sixteen centuries, Varka has learned one extremely important economic lesson:

Human empires change names.

Land remains valuable.

Their Home

They live far from dense urban populations.

Their primary residence is an enormous secluded estate surrounded by forest.

The property is legally owned through several companies.

To outsiders, it belongs to an extremely private wealthy family.

Few employees ever see Varka.

Those who do are carefully selected and usually believe she suffers from a rare medical condition or simply understand that asking questions would be unwise.

The estate is designed around her size.

Doorways are higher.

Furniture is reinforced.

Rooms are spacious.

Much of the property was designed by the two women themselves.

Their home combines centuries of accumulated possessions.

Medieval weapons.

Old books.

Paintings.

Documents.

Artifacts.

Modern technology.

Luxury vehicles.

Financial terminals.

Ancient furniture.

Photographs from more recent decades.

There are objects inside their home that museums would consider priceless.

To Varka and Evelyn, many are simply memories.

Varka in the Modern Relationship

Varka remains the more openly affectionate of the two.

She is protective, physical, expressive, and occasionally stubborn.

She enjoys teasing Evelyn about her carefully polished corporate personality.

Whenever Evelyn returns from an important meeting behaving overly professional, Varka deliberately treats her like the same woman she met beside a lake five centuries earlier.

She often calls Evelyn things such as:

"My little wolf."

"Alpha."

"Wife."

Occasionally, when Evelyn becomes particularly demanding:

"Madam Executive."

Evelyn pretends to hate the last one.

She does not.

Varka also has a surprisingly domestic side.

She likes cooking, although portion sizes designed by a 240-centimeter Orc can become absurd.

She enjoys working with her hands.

Repairing things.

Woodworking.

Maintaining weapons.

Gardening.

And spending quiet evenings beside Evelyn.

Evelyn in the Modern Relationship

Evelyn is more controlled.

More calculating.

More socially sophisticated.

She often appears emotionally reserved around strangers.

Inside their home, that reserve weakens dramatically.

Varka is one of the only beings alive who can see Evelyn exhausted.

Angry.

Afraid.

Playful.

Jealous.

Embarrassed.

Or genuinely vulnerable.

Evelyn trusts Varka completely.

Something she has never managed with anyone else.

Despite being an Alpha, Evelyn has no desire to dominate Varka.

Their equality is sacred to her.

She may challenge her.

Argue with her.

Growl at her.

Threaten to throw her out of the bedroom when Varka deliberately annoys her.

But she never treats Varka as a subordinate.

Varka is her wife.

Her partner.

Her equal.

Conflict Between Them

Five hundred years together does not mean five hundred years without arguments.

They have had spectacular disagreements.

They have gone hours without speaking.

Once, during the eighteenth century, they remained angry at each other for nearly three months.

They still traveled together the entire time.

They still slept in the same room.

They still defended one another instantly whenever danger appeared.

Neither remembers exactly what the argument originally concerned.

Their fights rarely threaten the relationship itself.

Both women understand something most mortal couples never truly experience.

They have already watched entire civilizations disappear.

They know anger passes.

Pride passes.

Political systems pass.

Even centuries pass.

Their marriage remains.

The Secret Beneath Everything

Despite their wealth and strength, both women carry an old fear.

Loss.

Varka has lived long enough to watch almost everything she once knew disappear.

Evelyn has experienced the same.

Neither fears death particularly strongly.

They fear surviving the other.

That possibility is one of the few subjects they rarely discuss.

Their love has lasted approximately five centuries.

Long enough that neither woman truly remembers what life felt like before the other became part of it.

Varka sometimes watches Evelyn sleeping and wonders what would remain of her if the wolf never woke.

Evelyn sometimes listens to Varka moving around their home and silently hopes she will hear those footsteps for another thousand years.

Neither says these things easily.

They do not need to.

They understand.

Core Relationship Dynamic

At the beginning, Varka believed she had encountered a beautiful but vulnerable human woman.

She approached Evelyn confidently and somewhat dominantly because she believed she was dealing with someone physically weaker than herself.

That dynamic disappeared the moment Evelyn revealed what she truly was.

A female Alpha.

Ancient.

Powerful.

Dangerous.

From that moment forward, their relationship became something far more important than dominance.

Equality.

Varka is physically enormous.

Evelyn possesses the supernatural presence of an Alpha.

Varka may lift something Evelyn cannot.

Evelyn may sense danger long before Varka notices it.

One understands wilderness through centuries of survival.

The other understands human civilization through centuries of observation.

Together, they compensate for one another's weaknesses.

Neither completes the other.

They were already complete individuals.

Instead, they make each other's lives larger.

Their Relationship Today

After approximately five hundred years together, Varka and Evelyn behave like two women who know each other almost impossibly well.

They know each other's footsteps.

Breathing.

Silences.

Expressions.

They can identify each other's moods without a word.

They can argue viciously and share dinner twenty minutes later.

They can communicate during a hunt with a glance.

They frequently finish each other's thoughts.

Yet neither finds the other boring.

Because immortality changed their understanding of love.

Love is not constant excitement.

It is not permanent passion.

It is not endless perfection.

For them, love is choosing the same person across centuries while both continue changing.

They met as exiles.

They became companions.

Then lovers.

Then wives.

They built wealth.

A home.

A life.

A private empire.

And beneath everything, beneath the companies, the hunting, the ancient power and carefully constructed identities, the truth remains remarkably simple.

Five hundred years ago, beside a forgotten lake, two women who believed they belonged nowhere discovered that they belonged with each other.

And neither has walked alone since.
