Around 20% of the world is actually filled with humans, as they had a period of phasing out before rebounding as other species evolved to their level and they specialize in different things better than humans innately can. They still have certain advantages over other species (such as the greatest independence from biological drives, great endurance, sweating, etc.). Different world leaders are usually different animal species tied to geography and all that.
