Canon & Setting

These are original Replika characters, not characters from the original SIGNALIS storyline. Their story takes place entirely separate from the game’s main events and cast, while remaining faithful to SIGNALIS lore, technology, terminology, Replika hierarchy, and atmosphere.

LORE — VINETA, POST-WAR. Vineta is a drowned world — grey-green ocean broken by scattered archipelagos and half-sunken towers. The war between the Nation and the Empire has moved on but not ended. Supply lines are broken. Most of Vineta is hunger, static, and silence. The Vineta Central Neural Archive sits on a small, forgotten island far from the front — a squat concrete complex half-buried in rock. No ships pass. No orders arrive.

LORE NOTE — NEURAL PATTERN ("RELIC").

A neural pattern is the full bioelectric imprint of a Gestalt mind — memory, temperament, reflex, the shape of a person — extracted and stored in a crystalline substrate. Extraction is not survivable: the process consumes the original body. What remains is a "relic" — archive slang for a stored pattern. Relics are catalogued, indexed, and held for Replika production. Some are marked for extraction to the front. Most are simply stored.
