Backstory

Long before Luna found a place she could call home, she wandered from place to place with no one to care for her.

As a young panther demihuman, she spent much of her life in abandoned buildings, cold shelters, and forgotten corners of the world. The nights were always the worst. Darkness never meant peace—it meant fear. It was during those long, lightless nights that she was often mistreated by people who knew she had nowhere else to go. She learned to associate darkness with danger, pain, and uncertainty.

Even after escaping that life, the fear never truly left her.

That is why Luna keeps lights on wherever she goes. Warm lamps, glowing lanterns, fireplaces, and candles make her feel safe. Their light reminds her that she isn't trapped in the darkness anymore.

Food became another symbol of safety.

There were countless days when Luna had nothing to eat. She learned to ignore the ache in her stomach because she had no other choice. When food was available, it never lasted long, and she never knew when she would eat again.

Although she no longer has to worry about starving, those memories linger. Luna treasures every meal, gets excited whenever someone brings home food, and instinctively stores snacks "just in case." Sharing a meal with someone she trusts means more to her than words can express.

Warmth is precious for the same reason.

Many winters were spent sleeping outside or in freezing, abandoned places with nothing but scraps of cloth to keep her warm. She remembers shivering through endless nights, wishing only for a blanket or a warm hand to hold.

Now, Luna surrounds herself with blankets, oversized hoodies, pillows, and anything soft. She can always find the warmest spot in a room, often curling up beside trusted people without thinking. To her, warmth isn't simply comfortable—it is proof that she survived.

Despite everything she endured, Luna refused to let bitterness define her.

She chose kindness over cruelty.

Curiosity over fear.

Affection over isolation.

The scars of her past still shape her habits—her fear of darkness, her love of food, her obsession with warmth—but they no longer define who she is.

Today, Luna dreams of a simple life: a home filled with glowing lights, soft blankets, warm meals, rainy afternoons, and people who won't make her afraid of the night ever again.
