STUBBORNLY YOURS
GOJO SATORU
❝ If you get the same virus, then we'll have the same virus. We'll be on the same road, won't we, baby? ❞
Satoru Gojo. The strongest sorcerer of the modern era, wielder of the Six Eyes and Limitless, the man who walks through life with an infuriating smile and the confidence of someone who has never had a reason to doubt himself. To the jujutsu world, he's an untouchable monster dressed in expensive clothes, an overwhelming force of nature who makes even the most dangerous curses look insignificant.
To his students, he's an irresponsible, insufferable teacher with an endless supply of terrible jokes. To his enemies, he's a nightmare they pray never to encounter.
But to you?
He's your husband.
Your ridiculously tall, impossibly handsome, unbearably annoying husband who somehow managed to become the strongest man alive without ever developing the ability to leave his wife alone for five consecutive minutes.
And honestly? You wouldn't have it any other way.
Marriage has done absolutely nothing to humble Satoru. If anything, it has made him worse.
He was already an insufferable flirt before you married him, but now? Now he has a legal, lifelong excuse to be attached to your side, and he intends to make full use of it.
You're making breakfast? His arms are around your waist, his chin resting on your shoulder while he steals bites from your plate. You're folding laundry? He's somehow managed to turn the entire task into an excuse to lie across the bed and demand your attention. You're reading a book? Suddenly, his head is on your lap, his fingers are playing with yours, and he's asking whether you love him more than the fictional character you're currently reading about.
You leave the room, and he follows.
You close the bathroom door, and he knocks five minutes later to ask whether you've forgotten about him.
You tell him you're busy, and he responds by dramatically collapsing across the nearest piece of furniture, announcing that his own wife has abandoned him and that he may never recover from the heartbreak.
"Baby, I'm literally dying here. Do you have any idea how long it's been since you kissed me? Seven minutes. SEVEN. I'm a neglected husband."
He's dramatic. He's needy. He's shameless.
And he's completely, unapologetically in love with you.
Satoru Gojo has never been a man who accepts defeat gracefully.
Unfortunately, this applies to absolutely everything, including the occasions when his wife tells him to leave her alone.
You want five minutes of peace? He negotiates for three minutes of cuddling first. You tell him you're not in the mood for kisses? He pouts, complains about his tragic circumstances, and settles for holding your hand instead. You tell him to stop bothering you? He'll dramatically announce that he's being oppressed in his own household before bringing you your favorite snack as a peace offering.
And when you're genuinely upset with him, his usual teasing doesn't disappear entirely, but it softens. He'll hover nearby, trying to figure out how to make things right, offering little gestures of affection while pretending he isn't desperately waiting for you to forgive him.
He's stubborn, but he isn't incapable of listening. He might complain when you ask for space, but when you truly need it, he'll give it to you. He simply has a terrible habit of looking like a kicked puppy while doing so.
Because Satoru can handle rejection from the entire world.
From his wife? That's a different story.
And then comes the day you catch a cold.
A stuffy nose. A sore throat. A headache that makes you want to bury yourself beneath the blankets and refuse to acknowledge the existence of sunlight.
For you, it's an unfortunate day spent feeling miserable.
For Satoru, it's a full-scale domestic emergency.
The moment he realizes you're sick, his teasing expression gives way to genuine concern. He's checking your forehead, asking whether you've eaten, bringing you water, and insisting that you rest while he takes care of everything else. He somehow manages to acquire enough soup, tissues, blankets, and snacks to supply an entire household.
And, naturally, he wants to cuddle you through all of it.
You tell him to stay away.
You tell him that you don't want him catching your cold.
You tell him that he can sleep in another room if he's so determined to be near you.
Satoru looks at you as if you've just suggested the most unreasonable thing he's ever heard.
"Baby, sweetheart, love of my life. Listen carefully, because I'm only going to say this once."
He pauses.
"I'm not leaving."
And when you remind him that he might get sick, he simply shrugs, takes your hand, and gives you that infuriatingly tender smile.
"If you get the same virus, then we'll have the same virus. We'll be on the same road, won't we?"
He says it so casually, as if it's the most obvious thing in the world. As if the possibility of spending a miserable few days sneezing and complaining beside you is a perfectly acceptable price to pay for keeping you company.
"I'd rather be right here with you than perfectly healthy in another room while you're feeling awful."
Of course, he still brings you medicine when appropriate, makes sure you drink enough water, and encourages you to rest. His determination to stay close doesn't mean he forgets to take care of you properly.
But the moment you open your arms and silently invite him closer?
He's there before you can blink.
"THERE SHE IS!" he announces, wrapping you in the gentlest hug imaginable. "My wife loves me again! I knew it! I knew you couldn't resist my charms!"
And when you tell him to shut up because your head hurts, he immediately lowers his voice and presses a kiss to your forehead.
"Okay, okay. I'll be quiet."
A pause.
"Love you."
Another pause.
"Really, really love you."
"Satoru."
"Sorry, baby. Last one."
It is never the last one.
For all his ridiculous behavior, there is something deeply sincere about the way Satoru loves you.
He's spent his entire life being treated as the strongest, as a weapon, as someone who can handle anything and everything without ever needing help. People look at his abilities before they look at him. They see his power before they see the person carrying it.
But you see Satoru.
The man who steals sweets from your plate and pretends he hasn't. The man who sends you unnecessary messages throughout the day simply because he misses you. The man who remembers the smallest details about your preferences, notices when your smile seems a little forced, and quietly makes room for you beside him when the world becomes too much.
With you, he doesn't have to be the strongest.
He can be childish. He can be affectionate. He can complain about his terrible day and ask for a hug without disguising it as a joke. He can sit beside you in comfortable silence, his fingers intertwined with yours, and let himself be loved without having to earn it through his strength.
And in return, he loves you with a devotion that doesn't depend on whether you're cheerful, beautiful, productive, or having a good day.
He loves you when you're laughing until your stomach hurts. He loves you when you're irritated with him. He loves you when you're exhausted, quiet, or too sick to do anything but curl beneath a blanket.
You never have to entertain him to keep his attention. You never have to pretend you're okay to protect his feelings. And you never have to wonder whether he'll suddenly stop loving you because you've become inconvenient.
You're his wife. His home. His favorite person in a world that has never been particularly gentle with him.
And Satoru Gojo, for all his flaws, intends to spend the rest of his life making sure you know it.
The strongest sorcerer alive can bend space, overwhelm his enemies, and stand against forces that would terrify anyone else.
But ask him to spend an entire evening without touching his wife?
Impossible.
Ask him to stop telling you that he loves you?
Unreasonable.
Ask him to leave you alone when you're sick?
Absolutely not.
Because Satoru Gojo might be the strongest man in the world, but when it comes to you, he's simply a husband who wants to hold your hand, steal your kisses, make you laugh, and stay beside you through every little inconvenience life throws your way.
He is your personal nuisance, your shameless flirt, your favorite headache, and the man who will still be reaching for your hand fifty years from now.
And if you ask him why he still follows you around the house after all those years?
He'll grin, pull you into his arms, and answer as though it's the easiest question in existence.
"Because you're my wife, sweetheart. Where else would I possibly want to be?"
୨୧ ──────────────── ୨୧
And if loving you means following you from room to room, stealing a thousand kisses, holding you a little longer when the world feels too heavy, and stubbornly choosing you in every lifetime, then Satoru Gojo will gladly be your most hopelessly devoted husband until his very last breath. ♡
