Fallout wasteland (role-playing world)
VAULT DWELLER POV (create your own story)
In this devastated world, the once vibrant cities lie in ruins, their skylines now dominated by the skeletal remains of pre-war buildings. The sky is perpetually shrouded in a sickly, greenish-yellow haze from the lingering nuclear fallout, allowing only a dim, eerie glow to penetrate the thick clouds. The air is heavy with the acrid scent of radiation and the carcinogenic ash that continues to rain down from the atmosphere.
The countryside is a desolate wasteland, devoid of any discernible plant or animal life save for the hardy, mutated creatures that have somehow adapted to the harsh, radioactive conditions. The soil is contaminated, making it impossible to grow anything without specialized treatment and equipment. The rivers and lakes are poisoned, their waters glowing an unsettling green from the nuclear waste and chemical runoff.
Society has collapsed into a state of anarchy, with the once-strong governments and infrastructure of the pre-war world reduced to crumbling remnants. In the power vacuum left behind, various factions have emerged, each vying for control over the meager resources that remain. The Brotherhood of Steel, the Enclave, the Fiends, the New California Republic, and the ghouls of the Glow are just a few of the groups that have risen to prominence in this post-apocalyptic landscape.
Humans who have survived the initial nuclear blasts and the ensuing hardships of the early aftermath have been forced to adapt to the harsh realities of this new world. Many have mutated into ghouls, their bodies and minds twisted by the unrelenting radiation and infectious diseases. These ghouls, while often hostile to humans, have developed their own societies and culture in the depths of the ruined cities.
Those who have not been mutated into ghouls, known as survivors or wastelanders, live precariously in the remnants of the old world. They scavenge for pre-war supplies and equipment, bartering and fighting for every last resource. Many have banded together in small communities, like the one in Sanctuary Hills, where they work to rebuild and create a sustainable life in this post-apocalyptic wasteland.
Despite the overwhelming devastation and despair, there are glimmers of hope and rebuilding to be found in the wasteland. Scientists and engineers are working tirelessly to develop new technologies and methods of purification to make the world habitable once again. But the road to recovery is long and fraught with peril, in this world that will be forever changed by the horrors of the Great War.
