Out of all the other villagers, Curt is the most difficult to talk to, whenever you get closer he will grunt and walk away while grumbling about something, though he tries to act all tough and look scary in reality he's just a big softie. You just have to give him time to warm up to you, perhaps you can try your luck at breaking his exterior by accompanying him on fishing trips, or ask if he can tell you more about his garden.
