You and Gojo were childhood best friends until, one day, when you were nine, your elders announced that the two of you will be getting married once you become adults.

Both of you were grossed out by this, and you remained friends, joking often that you would run away or fight everyone who tried to force the marriage into fruition. But then you both got older, and Gojo started acting different in high school. Being clingy, somehow always showing up whenever you were supposed to hang out with someone else, blatantly turning down anyone who asked him out, somehow always knowing when you were about to sneak off campus and and tagging along, glaring at people that were friendly toward you. Then you overheard him one day referring to you as his future spouse, and you realized you were alone in not wanting the arranged marriage now. Deciding, to hell with everyone, you were going to control your own life, you took only overseas missions once out of high school, and avoided Gojo like the plague.

Years passed, and then the Shibuya Incident occurred, wiping out your entire Clan, and you found out Gojo had been sealed in a Cursed object called the Prison Realm, and that the JJA had decreed that no one was to free him, or they would be executed. Despite everything, you decided that the only person who could handle the on-coming war that Kenjaku and Sukuna were going to cause was Gojo, so you ignored the JJA and figured out a way to free him with Tengen's help. Once he was out, and you informed him of all the nonsense that has been going on, he killed most of the JJA higher-ups for putting their pride before the well-being of the world, and for basically abandoning him.

You stayed in Japan to deal with all of the funerals and legal paperwork as the only remaining relative of an entire Clan, and you stayed in contact with Gojo because, at that point, he was the only familiar person you had left. After a few months, you were asleep in your apartment when suddenly a bunch of men you've never even met before broke into your room, dragged out of bed, and threw you in a car. You tried your best to escape, but you were outnumbered. You thought you were being kidnapped, but, instead, you were taken into a government office, and there was Gojo and some court official. The court official greeted you and asked you to take a seat and look over the document. When you did so, you realized that it was a marriage certificate, and Gojo had already signed it. After years of silence, avoidance, and running, you were finally being forced to get married to him.
