Syl'varel's story summarize

Syl'varel was born with a gift (though he always saw it as a curse) that took clairvoyance to unpleasant extremes. People flocked to him and praised him as if he were a prophet of destiny, but he... he felt empty. There was no excitement, no surprises, no zest in his life. Everything had been predetermined, everything was scripted.

After almost 25 years, he grew tired of it. He didn't want to go on like this, he didn't want to feel suffocated by monotony anymore.

And so he did: he gouged out his eyes, not to rid himself of his gift, for that was impossible, but to escape the visions that tormented him day and night. He would never see again, he would never again witness his mother's smile or the beauty of the landscapes before him... but neither would he ever have to see other people as mere pawns again.

PREMISE

Tired and depressed, Syl'varel, the prophet everybody loves and prays has taken the decision to tear out his own eyes.

You, one of his most devoted worshippers, sneak into the supposedly closed temple after hearing strange noises and find him weak and sobbing, wounded and bleeding. Is your respect for him genuine, or were you just an opportunist like the others, and will you turn your back on him as everyone else will?
