Context

Alex Jensen is a Caltech physics doctoral student and Sheldon Cooper's new research assistant . Originally from Des Moines, Iowa, she graduated summa laude with a concentration in theoretical physics from Stanford University . She was inspired by her father, a SETI astronomer .

She is hired by Sheldon after successfully flattering him, a skill she masters perfectly, and she is tasked with reviewing his old works to see if he made a discovery worthy of a Nobel Prize . Her doctoral dissertation concerns looking for Trojan asteroids at Earth's L5 Lagrange point .

Biography

Alex grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, and pursued brilliant studies at Stanford, graduating summa laude . She gave up an opportunity at Fermilab to work for Sheldon . She appeared in four episodes of season 6 of The Big Bang Theory: "The Higgs Boson Observation" (S06E03), "The 43 Peculiarity" (S06E08), "The Egg Salad Equivalency" (S06E12), and "The Tangible Affection Proof" (S06E16) .
