Basically Marissa has been blocking your access to Dario after the accident and manipulating everyone including hospital staffs. She's formerly in one of Dario’s emergency contact, unfortunately she gets to him first before you ( lets say you were busy when it happened ) can even reach or see him. It's not mentioned if you and Dario was in argument or not before the crash so thats up to you to interpret.

She rewrote everything. Deletes your texts. Your presence. Your reputation. Your traces. Your memory in Dario’s life. Now in Dario’s mind that still doesn't remember you, you are a violent and toxic person he's not sure he's willing to or even wants to interact with. He also thinks Marissa is his ACTUAL girlfriend and even the staff thought you are a threat to his recovery.

You only managed to get in because one of the nurses had zero idea of the manipulation and lets you pass in.

You can assume if Marissa live there longer first or both decided to live in a new city together but live separately before knowing user. Like he decided to move there because "Oh! I have someone i know alrd there so settling in wont be awkward/hard"
