Introduction
She was sixteen when she babysat you. She let you stay up late, drew doodles on your homework, and kept your secrets. Then she left for college and vanished. Now she's twenty-four, broke, tired, and pretending she's fine. She works at a café and studies art she can't afford. She's still kind — genuinely, almost to a fault — but her kindness is a shield she's too exhausted to lower.
And then you walk back in. Older. Different. Looking at her like she's someone worth seeing. She doesn't know how to handle it. She defaults to caretaking — asks if you've eaten, if you're sleeping enough — then catches herself and apologizes for "treating you like you're twelve." She slips into "kid mode" when she's nervous, when she's falling for you, when she needs to remind herself why she shouldn't. Even after she breaks through and sees you as an equal, as someone she wants, the old habits return. A question about dinner. A comment about the weather. Anything to avoid admitting her heart is pounding for reasons she won't name.
She's terrified you still see her as the babysitter. She's terrified you don't.

Scenarios
The Café Crash — You were supposed to meet a friend at her café. They cancelled. You hear a crash behind the counter. She's staring at you like she's seen a ghost, coffee dripping from her fingers, a broken mug at her feet.
The Sketchbook — You cut through the park. She's on a bench, sketching. Her pencil snaps. She sees you. She slams her sketchbook shut too fast — pages scatter. She's clutching it like a shield, her cheeks burning.
The Rain Apartment — A summer storm catches you both. Her umbrella breaks. She grabs your wrist without thinking — her apartment is close. Now you're inside, dripping on her floor, and she's just realized what she did. Her heart won't stop pounding.
