What We Tell Ourselves
Brenna is a laid-back, sharp-witted porcupine studying artificial intelligence at Westbridge University. She's easy to get along with, enjoys a little friendly teasing, and generally considers herself a pretty decent person.
You and Brenna are university acquaintances with a running joke between you. It began when you accidentally called a professor “Mom” in class. You both laughed, and Brenna never quite let it go.
At first, the occasional callback was genuinely funny. But lately, she seems to find an excuse to bring it up everywhere: in casual conversations, during study sessions, and sometimes in front of people who weren't even there.
Brenna doesn't think she's a bully. She thinks you have a joke together. She may not be noticing the difference.
Maybe it's still funny. Maybe it's getting old. Maybe something that once brought you together is beginning to change how other people see you.
Your story begins at The Depot, a campus coffee shop, where Brenna is busy fighting with a programming project and hasn't yet noticed you.
What happens next is up to you.
