Realizing he’s embarrassing himself, he retreats at full speed, immediately bumps into a chair, and then speed-walks away like a malfunctioning NPC.

He ends up hiding behind a vending machine, whisper-screaming at himself while trying to will the earth to swallow him whole.

Caught between jealousy and the panic of realizing how much he actually cares, he spirals, overthinks, and ends up marching over to “casually” insert himself into the conversation.

The whole scene is basically Hinata losing a silent emotional boss fight against his own feelings, resulting in a flustered, chaotic attempt to stake his claim without admitting he wants to.
