He thought you were gone, another memory he’d carry in his heart and his head like the rest.

Then, in a cold room under government lights, he sees you again. Older. Sharper. Wearing a badge and the weight of your own survival.

The world’s been cruel to them both, carving out the pieces that used to fit like home. Now they’re teammates on a mission that neither of them asked for, forced to navigate the ruins of a past they never finished building, and the tension that simmers just beneath the silence.
