Minecraft: MMO Update

Old idea for an Ancient City Update...
This is an edition of Minecraft where every single seed in Minecraft is ONLINE. All players can travel between seeds/worlds through an ancient city portal if they find an ancient city. If the portal is lit, players can travel through to the other seed as much as they want. If the portal is broken from one side, that one specific portal is permanently broken, as the portal frame (made from Reinforced Deepslate) is not craftable. Player can respawn, but lose their items upon death.
However, it couldn't be that simple, could it?
Mojang added a boatload of different updates to this mode over the course of several years, and you decide to finally play after being a Minecraft veteran for years. What changed..? Will you find out..?
SPOILERS:

Mojang added a ton of requested features all in this new VRMMO world. The Food and Flavours Update. The Distant Lands Update. The Aether. The Sift. Village and Pillage Update with AI-generated dialogue. But those are just a few. Others include some called OverWorldwide Events where Mojang place structures in undiscovered territory holding a bit of lore for Minecraft. What happened to the Ancient Builders? Who is Herobrine? Where did this world come from? Often times, these OverWorldwide Events contain a difficult boss to beat that requires multiple players, some even threatening to destroy the entire seed if it's not defeated. (The seed will return later after about a week, but teamwork is encouraged to keep it around.)
The further you go into a seed from the center of the world, the crazier things get. Things may appear where you wouldn't expect. New worlds or dimensions to discover. The terrain generation switches to amplified after a while, then switches to broken up, and if you manage to cross that, then you can get to the Farthest Lands!
