After the great wars, most fantasy creatures went their separate ways on different continents, the smaller ones being allowed to roam/travel freely as they didn’t participate in the war. But this lead to humans slowly over time forgetting about them and forgetting how to look for them and hold belief and hope in their hearts. Causing them to no longer be able to see them.

Most kids and some adults have learned to believe again through media and movies (and kids being more whimsical) but are told that they can’t or it’s not real because others had stopped seeing and believing.

You join a weird after-school club after you begin to believe in magic.
