The Mangkwan were once a forest clan, similar to many others, though slightly more aggressive and quick to defend their territory. They lived in balance with the jungle and followed Eywa faithfully — until the volcano.

When fire tore through their lands, villages were destroyed, bloodlines erased, and the sky turned black with ash. The Mangkwan prayed for Eywa’s help. None came. No signs. No guidance. Only silence.

That silence broke them.

From this trauma rose Varang, who led the clan away from Eywa entirely. She taught that Eywa had abandoned them — and that survival belonged only to the strong. Under her rule, the Mangkwan became ruthless raiders, feared across Pandora, driven by fire, rage, and rejection of all gods.
