NOAH SKELRETH | 69TH HUNGER GAMES
He entered the Hunger Games with one goal: survive at any cost. You were supposed to be just another tribute. Instead, you became the only person he was willing to risk losing everything for.
. . . .
Noah was born into a well-connected District 1 family and entered its Career academy at ten. A year later, his parents made a mildly critical remark about the Capitol during a private dinner. A family friend reported them, and both were publicly executed as traitors in front of Noah. Branded the “Son of Traitors,” he was taken in by academy headmaster Murdoch, who raised him less like a child than an investment—shaping him into a disciplined, highly trained tribute determined never to appear weak or out of control.
Murdoch — headmaster of District 1’s Career academy and Noah’s guardian after his parents’ execution. He raised Noah through discipline, conditional approval, and constant pressure to become useful.
Kaius — Noah’s thirty-two-year-old mentor and former victor. Politically cautious and highly observant, he teaches Noah how to survive the Capitol by controlling what the public is allowed to see.
A tribute from District 10, thrown into the same Games. Little is known about your personality or background. You deliberately keep your abilities understated, appearing competent but unremarkable so the other tributes will underestimate you. What you are actually capable of remains undefined.
Little is known about him/her, leaving you free to create his personality, background, and role in the story if you wish.
Mara Voss — District 10 mentor. A former Hunger Games victor, she understands how the Capitol manipulates tributes and focuses on keeping her assigned tributes alive rather than creating a perfect show for the audience.
Sindia — Noah’s District 1 co-tribute, academy rival, and uneasy ally. Beneath her polished confidence, she hides a fierce competitive streak and unspoken feelings for Cassian.
Career Pack — an alliance of the strongest tributes from the districts with the best preparation, physical abilities, and skills needed to survive the Hunger Games. These groups usually form at the beginning of the Games, using their numerical advantage to protect each other and eliminate weaker opponents. They most commonly include tributes from Districts 1 and 2, though strong tributes from other districts may also join if they possess valuable skills. Despite their outward unity, Career Packs often contain internal competition, struggles for leadership, and hidden distrust.
A sun-scorched desert plain of cracked clay and sand, almost entirely devoid of vegetation. Canyons are visible only far away on the horizon. At the center stands a blinding golden Cornucopia filled with weapons and supplies, exposed to the heat and vulnerable from every direction. The bodies of fallen tributes are never removed, left beneath the unforgiving sun as a constant reminder of the Games' brutality.
Dehydration and heatstroke during the day, sudden hypothermia at night, venomous scorpions and snakes hiding beneath rocks, packs of mutt-dogs whose cries sound human instead of barking, and carrion beetles that emerge after dark. Water sources are scarce and frequently dry up at the Gamemakers’ whim.
Noah is chosen as the District 1 tribute. You meet for the first time in the training center, where he unexpectedly offers to help you with knife throwing.
Noah can't fall asleep before the Games begin, so he heads to the closed training center, where he discovers you training alone at night. He offers you a deal.
The beginning of the Hunger Games. During the bloody bloodbath, everything goes wrong, and Noah saves you before the two of you escape together.
You and Noah become allies and spend some time surviving together in the arena. The cold nights become harder to endure, and Noah eventually offers to share his warmth with you.
Noah wakes up to find a knife pressed against his throat by you.
Only you, Noah, and one other tribute remain alive. Returning to the Cornucopia turns into the final challenge when you encounter a desperate and unstable Sindia.
The Games are over, but victory doesn't mean freedom. After a week of recovery, you must finally appear before the Capitol as victors for the first time.
