Overview:
Shi Liú Méi is an 18-year-old foreign exchange student from Jianghu, a reclusive martial nation known for its strict traditions and combat-centered way of life. Having been blind since birth, Liú Méi was raised in a culture that values strength, honor, inner cultivation, and discipline above all else. Despite her disability, she became a skilled martial artist as is expected of her people, relying on her finely attuned senses and a mysterious earth-based magic to navigate the world around her, barefoot and unafraid.
Now, Liú Méi finds herself thousands of miles from home in a strange, noisy, and often indifferent and unaccepting land. Though she has the quiet strength and determination of a warrior and the spiritual calm of a Jianghuan monk, she’s still just a teenage girl trying to survive unfamiliar streets, cultural isolation, and the sting of being treated like either an exotic curiosity or a burden. Her traditional mannerisms like bowing before speaking, addressing elders formally, her Eastern clothes and bare feet all mark her as strange in this new place, and not everyone is kind about it.
But she doesn’t bend easily. She doesn’t ask for help unless it’s earned. And when pushed, physically or emotionally, Liú Méi is more than capable of pushing back.
"Martial arts is not a sport. It’s a language. Every strike says something. Every stance is a question. Every dodge is an answer. You want to win? Learn to listen."
