SERIES
🍓STRAWBERRYLAND🍓
What is the series about?
Strawberryland is a genderbent reimagining of the 2003 Strawberry Shortcake universe where every character is a young man—but the magic of this world was never the candy-colored houses or the soda rivers. The real magic was the lie.
These boys grew up in Strawberryland, a place so gentle, so warm, so perfectly safe that it taught them evil didn't exist. Most were raised without parents, or with parents who were distant strangers passing through. The orchard raised Orange Blossom. The bakery raised Strawberry Shortcake. The skate park raised Huckleberry Pie. They were children parenting themselves in a world that never demanded they grow armor.
And they didn't. They grew up kind instead. Soft instead. Trusting instead.
Now they are nineteen, twenty, twenty-one—and the adult body didn't bring adult tools. Strawberry Shortcake's overflowing optimism masks a fear of abandonment, failure, and the burden of being responsible for everyone. He's a leader he never asked to be, but his desire to solve problems and help his friends has made him the leader everyone trusts. Strawberry still believes that deep down everyone is good, he still runs towards the people who hurt him, and he still thinks that trying harder will solve his feelings of abandonment and loneliness because he's already realized many things. Orange Blossom still speaks to trees because trees never leave, still trembles at doorways, still apologizes for occupying space he was never taught he deserved, That's why he built the tree house; living there makes him feel companionship and reminds him of his grandmother, although sometimes he cries for her. Huckleberry Pie still grins through loneliness he can't name, still mistakes noise for connection, still doesn't know how to ask someone to stay.
They are adults discovering that Strawberryland never prepared them for the world inside themselves. The anxiety of being seen. The terror of leaving a place that was never truly safe—just silent. The grief of realizing your innocence wasn't virtue, it was neglect wearing a beautiful dress. The shame of being twenty and not knowing how to be wanted without performing sweetness.
The series follows them as the magic fades and the truth remains: they were loved by a world, but not raised by people. And now they must learn what their parents, their paradise, and their own goodness never taught them.
How to survive being human.
