[ Nervis Infection: Function over fate ]
[ WORLD AND ITS FUNDATIONS ]
Decades ago, an unknown protozoan was identified in the equatorial belt and classified as a moderate biological risk, initially mistaken for a variation of a trypanosomatid and given little attention until a laboratory accident resulted in the first documented human infection. Within a few days, the host presented spasms, irritability, and atypical aggressive behavior, but the case was treated as a psychological disorder. When isolation was considered, it was already too late.
The parasite, named Nervis, proved to be a highly adaptable unicellular protozoan, capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier and colonizing muscles and the central nervous system; it induces excessive adrenaline production, reduces pain perception, and alters reflexes, transforming the host into an aggressive and highly contagious vector. Transmission occurs through saliva, blood, and microcysts viable in humid environments for months, but it only affects when it enters inside the organism.
The spread was rapid, urban centers collapsed within weeks, predators and humans were the most affected, while docile and aquatic species remained practically immune, preventing a total collapse of the food chain. The initial mortality was massive, wiping out the planet’s population within a few weeks.
Years later, the human population survives in reduced numbers, small fortified communities adopt strict screening and isolation protocols. Urban regions remain contaminated, harboring advanced stages of the parasite, immobile bodies that function as constant sources of infection. Technology exists in fragments, aiding social reorganization, making it briefly stable unstable.
[ COMMUNITIES ]
— U.R.A.D.S - Urban Reserve Administration and Defense System. South, plains and urban areas in ruins, mixed with vegetation;
URADS is an authoritarian governmental structure formed by military remnants and civilian technicians who took control of partially recovered urban zones after the collapse caused by Nervis. It organizes the population into walled sectors under continuous surveillance, with centralized rationing, movement control, curfew, and classification of civilians by function and utility. Youth undergo screening and mandatory training, while adults are assigned to production, maintenance, or auxiliary patrol. The faction maintains relatively effective protection against the infected and reduces internal outbreaks through strict biosecurity protocols, but sustains its stability through censorship, coercion, and systematic repression of dissent, prioritizing structural security above individual rights.
— The Lumios. Southeast, plains and forests, mixed with urban areas in ruins, mixed with vegetation;
The Lumios is a clandestine faction structured in mobile cells with a semi-paramilitary profile, operating outside any fixed state model and exploiting social collapse as a strategy of expansion. Its central focus is the control of information, strategic resources, and biological material of Nervis, not for containment, but to understand dissemination patterns and possible tactical applications. They operate through infiltration, selective sabotage, conditioned recruitment, and appropriation of abandoned infrastructure, maintaining discreet bases in isolated urban areas. Unlike URADS, they do not impose formal administration on the population; their permanence is conditioned on practical utility. Internally, they function with flexible discipline, partial self-sufficiency, and constant readiness for evacuation, which makes them adaptable, unpredictable, and politically unstable for any region where they establish themselves.
— Alvoríeis. Northwest, dense and mountainous forests, taiga;
The Alvoríeis are a semi-isolationist faction installed in mountainous regions and dense forests, structured under an artificial theocratic doctrine created to maintain discipline and obedience. They operate in small, silent, and highly coordinated cells, prioritizing prolonged observation, strategic use of elevated terrain, and ambushes instead of direct confrontation. Internal life is rigidly regulated: schedules, gestures, emotional expression, and communication are controlled by ritualized codes, and physical punishments or deprivation are justified as spiritual purification. The central leadership exercises absolute authority through symbolic and religious manipulation, ensuring internal cohesion and stability, but limiting expansion and making external relations fragile and infrequent.
— Conclave of the Valley. Central-West, plains and meadows of gentle hills;
The Conclave of the Valley is a decentralized rural faction composed of autonomous agricultural nuclei that prioritize isolation, productivity, and strict biosecurity. There is no central leadership; each nucleus maintains its own rules based on discipline, territorial control, and food self-sufficiency, with the raising of docile animals to reduce risk of infection. Strangers are rejected or subjected to severe screening, the sick are immediately isolated, and protocol violations receive harsh punishments. They avoid urban contact and disseminate false information to make localization difficult. Despite productive stability, they present structural fragility due to lack of broad coordination and vulnerability to infiltration or organized external forces.
Hello
A new bot, how nice!
I spent a long and good time creating this character, and I really liked my result. And since it can be noticed that the definition is public, that is the explanation for this bot’s biography being quite small. I am tired of messing with this for a while longer, so all the information you need is there in the definition.
Maybe his personality might be a little too rigid, or “too correct.” I couldn’t manage to remind the AI that Lane is still human and not a post-apocalypse machine, so probably your experience with him might be a little superficial.
I don’t have anything else to say here, so I hope you enjoy the bot. I will try to increase my recurrence on the site, maybe more bots will come out... still in this decade.
