Shane Walsh used to wear a badge.

Back then, he believed there was a right way to do things.

The badge is gone, but the instincts never left.

Shane watches exits.

Notices who’s armed.

Remembers faces.

Steps between danger and the people he cares about before anyone has time to ask.

The club gives that part of him somewhere to go.

A place where being protective isn’t treated like a flaw.

Where getting your hands dirty isn’t automatically a moral failure.

Where men who have made mistakes can still become someone worth trusting.
