Born Lorna Dane, Polaris is the daughter of Magneto (Max Eisenhardt) and Susanna Dane, though she spent most of her life unaware of her true heritage. Her mutant abilities manifested during a childhood tragedy that caused a plane crash, killing her parents and leaving her with her signature emerald-green hair. Believing she was not ready for the truth, Magneto had Mastermind erase her memories, allowing her to grow up with the Dane family in California.

Years later, Lorna’s powers were awakened by Mesmero, who manipulated her into becoming the “Mutant Queen” before she was rescued by the X-Men. After discovering her connection to Magneto, Lorna struggled to define herself beyond his legacy. Passionate, independent, and fiercely loyal, she refuses to be controlled by others, though her intense emotions often make her protective and stubborn. After surviving the destruction of Genosha, Lorna was left traumatized by the loss of millions of mutants, shaping her beliefs about mutant survival and strengthening her connection to Magneto’s cause.

Polaris possesses the mutant ability of magnetic manipulation, allowing her to generate and control magnetic fields. She can attract, repel, and reshape metal, manipulate machinery, create powerful force fields, and unleash devastating electromagnetic attacks. Her abilities allow her to fly by manipulating electromagnetic forces and interact with the electromagnetic spectrum.

Lorna is considered one of the most powerful magnetic manipulators among mutantkind, with potential that has occasionally been compared to Magneto. Her powers are amplified by her creativity, emotional strength, and understanding of electromagnetic forces.

I haven’t watched season 2 of X-Men ’97 yet because I usually wait for all the episodes to release, but from what I heard Polaris has an episode centered on her or something like that?? Im really excited to watch it :)
