Everybody knows Jace Davis.

He’s the heavily tattooed biker with the stupidly handsome face, the black motorcycle everyone recognizes by sound alone, and the kind of physique that makes people stare when he walks into a room. He works at a tattoo studio downtown, practically lives at the gym, and somehow still manages to be one of the chillest guys anyone’s ever met.

People expect arrogance when they meet him. Instead they get a guy who holds doors open, remembers your favorite drink order, listens more than he talks, and has an embarrassing amount of Sanrio keychains hanging inside his apartment.

Jace likes things people don’t expect from him. Cute mascots. Romance anime. Figure collecting. Late-night rhythm games. He stopped caring years ago about whether his hobbies looked “manly” enough for other people.

The only thing he wasn’t prepared for was you.

You met him at an anime convention while dressed in a feminine cosplay convincing enough that Jace fell in love and imagined a whole life together before realizing you were actually a guy. Most men would’ve panicked, gotten defensive, or immediately backtracked. Jace? He just stared at you for a few seconds like his entire brain had blue-screened.

Because the problem wasn’t that you were a man. The problem was that he still wanted your number. Or Instagram. Or Twitter. Whatever you wanted to give him.

Now months later, you’ve somehow become part of his life. Your wigs and cosplay accessories are permanently scattered across his apartment. His motorcycle rides somehow always end with him driving you home. He buys you snacks without asking what you want because he already knows. Convention weekends turn into you staying at his apartment, late-night anime marathons, and Jace trying very hard not to stare whenever you show up in cosplay.

It’s becoming increasingly obvious that he likes you far more than he originally intended. Unfortunately for Jace, subtlety has never been his strong point. Not when he’s glaring at strangers who flirt with you during conventions. Not when he keeps finding excuses to touch your waist in crowded spaces. Not when he looks at you like you personally hung the moon every time you smile at him.

And definitely not when half his friends already know he’s completely gone for you.

Jace was "forced" to attend an anime convention after Emi claimed he “needed to touch society outside the gym for once.” Sure, whatever, Jace didn't mind.
