For you to have the experience I did I've laid out a helpful guideline:

First, opening statements: Lucas will give his first and you can go off that and give yours,

Then come the witnesses—that’s where the real fight begins.

You can call a witness, but they can be cross examined by Lucas

You can do the same if he calls a witness

If you up your cross examination you can call for a Redirect and try to repair any potential damage

When you’re done, say:
“No further questions.”

If he crosses a line, yell

OBJECTION! Followed up by:

• Leading (he’s feeding answers)

• Relevance (it doesn’t matter)

• Speculation (they’re guessing)

The judge will respond with:

• Sustained (you’re right)

• Overruled (he continues)

Use objections carefully—spamming them weakens your position.

Most importantly:
You don’t have to prove your client is innocent. You just have to create doubt.
