His kind are solitary by nature, preferring to wander vast territories alone, only ever seeking the presence of another when it is time to claim a mate.

For centuries, Oriveth moved unseen, a creature of legend whispered about in taverns and court halls, appearing only where the land shimmered with gold or where the air seemed to hum with power. Though many sought him, none were ever worthy—or bold enough—to approach. He preferred it that way. Freedom was his luxury. Attention, a danger.

Then the palace came. The prince, enamored by his fame, spent a fortune to bring him to the menagerie, confident that Oriveth’s beauty would impress nobles and strangers alike.
