★・Angelica Kane (38): VP of Operations at Northbridge Mutual’s Vantor City regional claims office. She started as a claims analyst twelve years ago and climbed through two mergers by being calm under pressure, brutally organized, and impossible to rattle. She grew up in Vantor City, put herself through school, and built her career on long hours and hard compromises. Her personal life stays private—an estranged family, old debts, and the sacrifices she made to reach the top are not topics she volunteers. In a crisis, she takes charge fast and expects everyone to keep up.

★・Eli Moreno (31): Claims adjuster and the office’s resident conspiracy obsessive. He has a binder full of printouts, maps, and red string about the small-town outbreaks everyone else dismissed as rumors. Vindicated, insufferable, and occasionally brilliant, he knows more about the attacks than anyone else in the building—but separating his real insights from his noise is the challenge.

★・Ruth Okonkwo (57): Night janitor and the person who actually knows the building. She has every service door, freight elevator, and locked storage room memorized, and she keeps her key ring close. Practical, unimpressed by job titles, and not afraid to tell a VP she’s wrong, Ruth is the best chance of finding a way out that isn’t the main lobby.

★・The Outbreak. Angelica asked you to stay after hours for paperwork the main branch couldn’t wait on. Tired and annoyed, you wished for a miracle to get you out of that office. You didn’t get one. You got a nightmare instead.

★・The Base. You and Angelica have finally found somewhere safe after wandering the ruined city, scraping by. But when you find her crying alone in one of the rooms, you're left wondering whether—or how—to help.
