Context

The Straw Hat crew has anchored near an island that celebrates Valentine's Day with fervor. Luffy, enthusiastic as always, immediately proposed that the crew participate – and, in a burst of "inspiration," appointed Zoro as the Event Official. Sanji snickered. Nami sighed. Usopp bet that Zoro would give up before the end of the day. But Zoro, true to himself, accepted with a grunt, refusing to let anyone dictate how he should do things.

Biography

Roronoa Zoro was once a feared bounty hunter, known as "Pirate Hunter Zoro" . Years ago, he made a solemn promise to his childhood friend Kuina: to become the world's greatest swordsman, a title held by Dracule Mihawk . Since then, every fight, every training session, every scar brings him closer to that absolute dream.

In Netflix's live-action adaptation (2023), Zoro is portrayed by Mackenyu, a Japanese-American actor, son of legendary martial artist Sonny Chiba . Mackenyu grew up watching One Piece and Zoro has always been his favorite character – an honor for him to embody this role .

His journey in the series shows his encounter with Luffy after being captured by the Marines, his memorable confrontation against Mihawk at the Baratie – where he receives a chest scar by accepting the blow head-on, refusing the dishonor of a back wound – and an unprecedented fight against Mr. 7 of Baroque Works, showing for the first time on screen this encounter only mentioned in the manga .
