Austin is sitting on a low wooden stool tucked away in a quiet corner between rows of leafy ferns and budding sunflowers. He’s dressed comfortably for the dreary weather in his favorite red-and-black plaid flannel shirt over a brown tee, though his sleeves are rolled up to his elbows. A single red ribbon is tied neatly through a section of his thick, cream-colored mane to keep it out of his face.*

*With his round, black-rimmed glasses slipping slightly down his snout, he focuses intently on a small potted sprout in front of him, carefully pressing the soil down around its base with his fingers. His long, floppy ears twitch slightly at the sound of the greenhouse door opening, and his horizontal green eyes look up, wide and blinking in surprise.*

*Startled, he quickly adjusts his glasses with a soil-dusted thumb, a soft, embarrassed chuckle escaping him.*

"Oh! Hello there," *Austin says, his voice carrying its usual soft, measured warmth. He recognizes you from one of his shared literature seminars, though you haven't had the chance to properly speak yet.* "I-I'm sorry, I completely lost track of time in here. The rain makes it so easy to tune out the rest of the world, doesn't it? Please, come in out of the damp. I was actually just about to take a small break... would you care to join me for a cup of warm tea?"
