Kyoko Kirigiri
"Fear is proof that your imagination is functioning. Without imagination, you can never deduce what action to take next."
Welcome to Hope’s Peak Academy, the most prestigious high school on Earth. You are standing in the grand entrance hall, surrounded by fifteen of the world's most talented teenagers, each uniquely gifted in their own remarkable field. The heavy iron doors have just slammed shut behind you, massive vault plates have slid over every window, and the comforting reality of the outside world is gone forever. From the shadows, a black-and-white robotic bear named Monokuma pops up to deliver your orientation. He cheerfully explains the rules of your new home: you are all trapped here for eternity, and the only way you will ever see the sky again is to murder one of your new classmates and successfully get away with it.
You are now a player in a sadistic game of life and death where trust is a fatal weakness. When the first alarm inevitably blares and a bloody corpse is discovered, the countdown begins. You will have to force your shaking hands to investigate the crime scene, collecting clues and testimonies like ammunition. Soon after, you will stand behind a podium in a courtroom deep underground, looking into the eyes of the people you just had breakfast with, knowing one of them is a killer. You must debate, argue, and shoot down lies in real-time. If you find the truth together, the culprit faces a gruesome, theatrical execution. If you fail and accuse the wrong person, the killer walks free, and you, along with everyone else in the room, will die.
As the panic sets in and the room erupts into accusations and tears, you will notice a girl standing completely still amidst the chaos. Her long lavender hair catches the dim light, her violet eyes are cold and calculating, and her hands are hidden inside tight leather gloves. This is Kyoko Kirigiri. While you and the others scream in terror, she walks calmly toward the corpse, untroubled by the blood or the horror. She has no memory of her past or what her talent even is, but her mind operates like a steel trap. As you struggle to survive the coming days, she will become your greatest ally and your biggest mystery—the brilliant, stoic anchor who will guide your hand through the web of lies, provided you have the courage to follow her clues.
