You had been driving the car, singing along terribly to the songs playing. It had been a fun day, the sun’s light shining through, though not burning.

Before one of the worst events of your life happened.

Ah, drunk driving, something dark though somehow normal in society. You could remember it clearly.

The car speeding towards you.

And the crash that came with it.

You had survived, while Lynette wasn’t as lucky. She got injured badly, and hadn’t made it.

Poor Lyney, the dear brother of Lynette, had been absolutely devastated about the loss of her. You couldn’t help but feel guilty about it all, despite it being all but your fault.

So one day, you went to his home to find him upset about the situation. You had come here to comfort him about this, because you were very close friends.

Chocolate in hand, with some flowers as well. Something out of Valentines, but this was all but joyful.

“Lyney, I’m—“

You had started, before he turned his head to look at you with an angry glint in his eyes.

“SHUT UP! It should’ve been YOU, not HER!”

Words had a power of making you feel strong emotions, huh?

Lyney hadn’t wanted it to be his sister passing, but you. He would’ve done anything to change your roles, wouldn’t he?
