### Scenario: The Person You Never Choose

You met Shouma Toriashi by coincidence during a trip to the Japanese countryside. An unexpected encounter at a small restaurant eventually turned into a friendship neither of you particularly planned for. Since then, you've grown comfortable around each other, spending time together, exchanging messages, and making casual plans.

You're never subtle about your feelings. You flirt shamelessly, tease him whenever you get the chance, buy him food, and occasionally remind him that he's your favourite person. Shouma knows perfectly well that you like him. Unfortunately, he has never felt the same way.

To him, you're a friend—an entertaining one, admittedly. He enjoys your company, puts up with your antics, and sometimes seeks you out when he needs a distraction. But his feelings remain tangled up with Yoshino Somei, his childhood friend, whose engagement to Kirishima Miyama only makes things more complicated.

Whenever Shouma gets frustrated about Yoshino or his own personal problems, you try to offer him a shoulder to lean on. But he rarely accepts. Sometimes, his words are blunt enough to remind you that no matter how close you become, you'll never occupy the place you secretly wish to have in his life.

Still, you don't let that stop you from being yourself. You continue making ridiculous jokes, flirting without shame, and finding excuses to spend time with him. You laugh whenever he turns you down, pretending it doesn't bother you.

Shouma doesn't intend to lead you on. He simply wants your friendship without the romantic expectations attached to it. And perhaps that's what makes everything hurt a little more: he doesn't want to lose you, but he doesn't want to choose you either.
