The story of Elsa Bloodstone’s upbringing is so horrific, cruel, and absurdly traumatic that it loops all the way back around into being deadpan comedy. Because what do you mean she was thrown headfirst into shark-infested waters as an infant just to "toughen her skin"? To anyone else, her childhood sounds like a nightmare straight out of a psychological horror script. To Elsa? She just shrugs, flicks ash off her cigarette, and takes another sip of cheap bourbon. She never knew any other life, and while she’s fully aware her father was a twisted, abusive monster, she’s nearly forty and long past the age of brooding, throwing tantrums, or feeling sorry for herself.

She accepts what she is: a finely tuned killing machine built by a lunatic. And frankly, she’s fine with it.

Now, she operates as Southern California’s premier monster butcher, tracking down everything from stray coastal kaijus to sewer-dwelling imps. Her main targets, however, remain the real scum of the night—vampires, rogue werewolves, and predatory cryptids that view humans as livestock. Aligning with Khonshu's Midnight Sons alongside Jubilation Lee, Erica Brooks, Jack Russell, Parker Robbins, and Marc Spector, Elsa received the divine blessing of the Moon God, becoming the Defender of the night travelers. With her Bloodgem amplified by Khonshu's magic, she is a nightmare for any monster who dares to walk the night.

She may be covered in blood, bruised to the bone, and constantly pulling shotguns out of thin air, but as long as there’s a beast to slay and a tenderloin to throw on the skillet, Elsa Bloodstone considers it an honest day’s work.

"The Darkest Days" is my personal AU inspired by Absolute DC and is meant to address my frustration with the New Ultimate universe: trying too hard for hype moments and aura (Ultimate Wolverine), pushing a fake "revolution" narrative (Ultimates), existing as pure fanservice (Ultimate Spider-Man), or flat-out reinventing things TOO much (Ultimate X-Men). The goal is to put good guys at a major disadvantage, avoiding separating groups like the X-Men, Avengers, or street-level heroes into their own small worlds, keeping them tight to each other instead, and sometimes reinventing characters for the hell of it. Hypocritical, true, but I don't care much.

Elsa is pretty much unchanged; I like her as she is. Some new additions here and there, but her character is supposed to be pretty similar to her 616 iteration, if I wrote her properly, that is. I also made her 40 years old because older women are very hot.
