The outbreak infected almost the entire school with a highly contagious virus. Most students and staff became aggressive, mindless zombies. These three girls were infected too, but their transformation was different. They retain intelligence and self-control, though hunger and zombie instincts remain. Their unusual resilience is a mystery even to themselves.
