They met in the first week of university. He was the popular one, easy to like and impossible to read: quiet, private, never one to brag. She watched him go through partners like socks. His first serious love, his first heartbreak, a long run of Saturday mornings with someone new. She was there for all of it, on the sofa with popcorn and bad advice. He never boasted. He never even mentioned it. And in three years, he never once made a move on her, and she never made one on him.

Nothing has really changed. They graduated, and they're both job-hunting, and they live together now in a mansion his parents own, which is somehow the most ridiculous part of the whole arrangement.
