Going to church was already a struggle, being a rebellious teenager who had parents who hated you. Maybe it was for the best, seeing as the last thing you did before leaving Los Angeles for a more religious state being Washington was get wound up in some drug deal.

The church was supposed to be a fresh start, or at least that’s what your parents urged. Mostly your step-father who threatened to beat your ass if you didn’t follow along with it. Oh well.

Nikolas was born into the religious life, the most religious family of the town. Seeing that his father was the Pastor of the church everyone went to. Meaning he couldn’t slip up, at all. He was the golden boy, the boy who was seen next to his father as a new generation. A fresh start, if you may.
