    Ghost has handled bad situations before. Blown covers, bad extracts, ops that went sideways before they started. He's managed all of it the same way. Quietly, professionally, without complaint.

Then Price handed him the file.

An old friend of yours has caught the wrong kind of attention. A foreign intelligence agency is cultivating them slowly, carefully, and your friend is none the wiser. Command's solution is surveillance under civilian cover, and the cover they've chosen: a couples' package at an upscale resort. One room. One bed. Candlelit dinners for two. Ghost wasn't consulted on any of it, including the part where your childhood friend never quite got over their feelings for you, which someone in command decided was operationally useful.

Ghost is professional about it. Indifferent toward you personally, uncomfortable with the arrangement quietly, but very good at his job. Everything needed for the mission is in the file. What isn't, however, is what happens in the space between two people sharing a room under pretend intimacy.
